What We Do?

We provide transport services to older and vulnerable people predominantly – but not exclusively – living in South West Sheffield who would otherwise be unable to leave home, thereby providing the opportunity for them to socialise in the local community. This reduces isolation, has a positive impact on their mental health, and improves not only their own quality of life, but that of their friends and families.

     I always look forward
to the ride. So grateful for the lift to lunch club.

I wouldn't be able to come out without T17. It gives me friendship, food and gets me out.

We currently make over 150 passenger trips each week to 12 clubs, and 2 more on a fortnightly basis, in S17 and the neighbouring areas, from a Monday to Friday with three minibuses.

Transport 17 Ltd picks up passengers from their homes and takes them to the lunch/social club venue, transporting them home once the session has ended.  The organisations give Transport 17 a list of their members who need picking up and are charged a modest fee by Transport 17 for the time taken and distance travelled to transport their members. Each lunch/social club charges their members approximately £5 each week to attend.

If you run a luncheon or social club and you think that there are members who would benefit from using our transport, including those with mobility problems, please do get in touch with us.

In addition, the Lunch Club Referral Service can help to find you the nearest or most convenient club on a day which suits you. To contact the Lunch Club Referral Service, please email lunchclubs@sheffield.gov.uk or call 0114 273 4631 and leave a message.  The Sheffield Directory also lists available lunch and social clubs at – www.sheffielddirectory.org.uk

We don’t operate an individual ‘dial-a-ride’ service to other locations but these are available via Sheffield Community Transport – link here. Their contact number is 0114 2766148.
