Minibus Driver
Volunteer minibus drivers normally do the same pick up and drop off so that they get to know the route, the passengers and the lunch club volunteers. They are always accompanied on the minibus by a volunteer passenger assistant. They take holidays throughout the year and cover for each other when appointments and other commitments crop up. Those that live outside the S17 area claim their travel expenses back from Transport 17. Currently our volunteer drivers commit to drive fortnightly, or once/twice a week.

Passenger Assistant
Volunteer Passenger Assistants help out on the buses, normally helping the same driver on the same pick up and drop off so that they get to know the route, the passengers and the lunch club volunteers. They will assist passengers getting on and off the bus, and ensure they are comfortable and safe whilst they’re travelling on the minibus. They take holidays throughout the year and cover for each other when appointments and other commitments crop up. Those that live outside the S17 area claim their travel expenses back from Transport 17. Currently our volunteer assistants commit to assisting fortnightly, or once/twice a week.
Trustee
As we consolidate our organisation and look to the future we are looking to expand and strengthen the small board of Trustees of our charitable organisation to more reflect the community in which we work and to help us in our strategic development. This is a great time to welcome new people on board. We are especially keen to encourage applications from across the age range to bring new energy and a fresh perspective into the organisation. We also welcome interest from individuals who represent our stakeholders and volunteer group.
