The Rosemary Memory Café in Dore is a warm and welcoming space for people living with dementia and the people who care for them.
Run in partnership with friends from Christ Church, Dore and Age UK Sheffield, this fortnightly dementia café provides a safe, relaxed environment where connection, companionship and understanding come first.

What is the Rosemary Memory Café?
The Rosemary Memory Cafés is a community space designed for people affected by dementia to socialise and enjoy time together in a supportive setting.
It is not a clinical appointment or formal session, it is a friendly afternoon filled with conversation, laughter and shared experiences.
As one regular visitor said:
“It’s the highlight of my fortnight. I come for the cake, but I stay for the company.”
When and Where?
The Rosemary Memory Café in Dore, Sheffield meets in the church hall:
First and third Tuesday afternoons at 2.00pm – 4.00pm
It is organised in partnership with Age UK Sheffield, who coordinate attendance and support the sessions.
What Happens at the Dementia Café?
Each session begins with gentle activities such as:
Games and puzzles
Word searches
Tea and cake
Afternoons may also include:
Chair-based exercise
Crafts
Interactive music sessions

Most importantly, the memory café is a place to relax, talk and connect.

Supporting Connection in Our Community
At Transport 17, we know how important community initiatives like the Rosemary Memory Café in Dore are.
Reliable, accessible community transport allows people living with dementia to attend social groups, memory cafés and support sessions safely and confidently. Without our transport, many would struggle to attend.
This year, we are working to raise £90,000 for a new minibus to ensure we can continue providing community transport across Sheffield and surrounding areas.
If you value connection, independence and support for people affected by dementia, please consider making a donation HERE to help us keep our buses on the road.
Every journey matters. Every connection counts.
Together, we keep our community moving.
Thank you
