It's Their Turn for Kindness

Step onto one of our buses on any given day and you’ll meet some remarkable people.
Many of our passengers are in their 80s and 90s.

They are the generation who remember ration books and air raid sirens. They grew up in a time when nothing was wasted and everything was mended. Life was harder in many ways, but communities were strong and people looked out for each other.
They worked hard, often from a very young age. They raised families. They cared for neighbours. They volunteered, contributed, and helped shape the communities we live in today.
These are people who spent their lives giving.
But time changes things.
Children grow up and move away. Partners pass on. Driving becomes difficult or impossible. Suddenly the everyday journeys we barely think about - a trip to the shops, a doctor's appointment, meeting a friend for a cup of tea - become complicated or even impossible.

For many older people, it’s not just transport that disappears. It’s independence. It’s connection. It’s the small routines that make life feel normal.
That’s where our bus comes in
Of course, we provide transport. But what we really provide is something much bigger.
A way to get out of the house. A familiar driver who knows your name. A chat on the journey. A friendly face waiting when you step on board.
We see the difference it makes every day. The laughter on the bus, the conversations that start before the doors even close, the friendships that grow between passengers who might otherwise feel isolated.
For someone who lives alone, that journey might be the highlight of their week. After everything this generation has lived through and given to others, it feels right that now it’s their turn to receive a little help and kindness.

Our buses make that possible
But running a community transport service takes resources, and our current goal is to raise funds for a new bus. It’s a big target - around £90,000- but every contribution brings us closer.
Because every bus we run means more journeys. More independence. More connection. More kindness.
And that feels like the very least we can offer the people who helped build the communities we call home. If you like to make a donation towards our next bus please click HERE
Thank you so much.
